The little fishie that could?

Illustraaaaatiooooooon!
As a project for Ill 1 we did 'Animal Disguises,' or animals dressing up as other animals to accomplish some purpose, using found objects to create their badly made costumes. Acrylic on ill board.

I like the calm quality of it, with the deadpan herons just watching as the fish struts off as confidently unbalanced as he can.

Go, Catfish, go!

Oh, Frank Sinatra, why are you so amazing?

The first one here is from the 'Every Hair on the Dog' eye project for Brandes. Um... so.. I did a baby Regal Horned Lizard, which, for a while, I thought was going to kill me, but I think it turned out pretty well. I'm not ever going to put it in a portfolio (especially as a senior). I may be dumb, but not that dumb. Sweetman warned me against it, which was nice of him. I can't believe people would to that. I would hope they'd gotten a little better by the time they got to 4th year. Lame. (But I hear they get RIPPED APART for it in portfolio review :D )

Now for the oil rub color pencil technique. This stuff kicks my ass, pardon my language. This process and I do NOT get along. I want to keep working with it on other pictures, but man, it's just hard for me. This is the second try, now using a picture of Kristin Chenoweth (hush, Rachel), and most of the mistakes are drawing errors, seeing as I wasn't really paying attention while trying to draw this at Marc's house during Thanksgiving. Beh.
I will not give up though! England Prevails! um.. I mean...

This song sucks.

This was all done on the same still life (obviously) that everyone put together individually and photographed.

I'm not sure why the first one (on grey) got so sharply white in the scan, but I couldn't manage to fix it. I'm kinda photoshop-retarded.

The second one I was trying to force myself to use bright colors, by putting in the orange bg first.

Aaaaaad acrylic on a textured ground, created using clear gesso with random junk dragged through it. Plastic butter knife on the onion and tablecloth, hard brush on flower petals (also plate, I think), bottle cap and sponge on bg, and a shelled walnut rolled on over the pepper. :)

Media class neeeext. These are just the watercolors.

Dude, it's the Hob Nob! Minus life...!

first watercolor EVAH :D

Aaaaah winter break.

Winter break means a semester worth of up loading!
Bwahahahahaha!

so, figure class junk first, hm?

Wow, that is pretty old...

Right, so, I really, really hate my figure teacher. Custode is pretty much the bane of my existence. Seriously. What a jerk. He spends the class making fun of ethnicities and such, or at least the few minutes he's actually there, then tells us to be better people than him. He leaves forever. Grades person against person. Hours and hours of rambling, useless demos, then complains that we haven't gotten enough work done. Picks me out in class for talking and tried to humiliate me for it, when I haven't said a word since walking in. Hate. I never hate people. I nearly walked out a few times, which I also never do, or even think about.

grr.

This was all in no particular order...

maybe it should have been...
